Music Video Workshop

We have a wonderful opportunity to include you, our year 10s, in one of our larger projects. On the 15th July we are remaking shot for shot the music video to 5ive - Everybody Get Up. Involved in this scene is a LARGE crowd scene (see video below) which we'd like you to be part of! Not only will you get the chance to see a real professional music video in production with guest director Jake Wynn but you'll also get to do a fun dance with the year 12s! The scene is scheduled for between 4 and 6 on the friday, there is no requirement to stay the entire time if you can't but it will be alot of fun if you can make it! If you want to be there just email Ms B so that we can get an idea of numbers! And if you are coming, make sure to bring your most disgusting 90s clothing - as you can see from the video everyone is HORRIBLY dressed!

Special Year 10 editing task

In your pairs or small groups, use this year’s Year 12 film sequences to create a 30 second promo to advertise The Media Department’s Film Making Module. It should make film-making look really fun and exciting by:
  • focusing on the best bits of this years films – ie comedy, action, scary or dramatic moments
  • demonstrating a wide variety of film genres
  • including some dialogue clips
But also, to demonstrate your development of skills, we want you to include:
1. Clips from the films
2. A voice over
3. One or two special fx
4. Some titles

All the completed trailers will feature on our youtube channel and the best one will be used to promote this module to prospective A level Media students on the Department’s blog.
